The Beautiful Bastards, Blood & Stomach Pills + Toasterbasket

BSP, 323 Wall St., Kingston, NY

BSP Kingston presentsThe Beautiful Bastards +Blood & Stomach Pills ++ToasterBasket$6 | 18+ | 7:30 Doors / 8PM ShowTHE BEAUTIFUL BASTARDS are a tent revival for the Church of Friday Night rock and roll healing you deserve. The Kingston NY based power trio twists traditional elements around post modern rhythms and muscular arrangements that make them sound much bigger than the sum of their parts. Expect a mashup of 60s-70s NYC-artrock, early electric blues, vintage R+B, and proto-punk. Their sound is defined less by genre than the conviction that rock music should be sensual, cathartic, and liberating. Blood & Stomach Pills is economical rock and roll for hard times. Two members, Sierra and Heron Furtwangler, hold this unit down with primal rhythms supporting their 70’s organ and shining guitar tones with a style that is spread throughout country, punk, blues, and garage rock with a healthy dose of raw aggression born of desperation.ToasterBasket is a dynamic group of five musicians deconstructing, fusing, and re-serving up the sounds of soul, jazz, blues, and funk into a mosaic of “modern motown rock” for your listening pleasure. ToasterBasket is inclusive, cohesive, and improvisational. It is the raw and husky verses of songstress Jezebel Jeffrey, and the syncopated tones of keyboardist Patrick Stokes that started the story of this New York group. The pair began writing music together and at the end of 2017 they added Josh Towers on Bass, Steven Repka on Guitar and most recently Terry Hampton keeping everyone tight on drums. With a wide range of influences, ToasterBasket appeals to listeners of all ages. The band’s 5 song EP “Toast to Talent”, is slated for release in early 2019.
